Polyurethane condoms are a great alternative if you are allergic to latex.
Water-Based Lubricant such as KY JELLY is a safe and effective lubricant. Vaseline, Baby Oil, and Lotion can break down the condom causing micro tears and skin irritation.
Check the expiration date on the condom-DO NOT USE IF EXPIRED. Old condoms are more likely to have damaged packaging that cause micro tears. Do not keep condoms in your wallet.
Carefully open the condom packet, be sure not to tear the condom. Condoms usually have a spot marked on the package that shows you where to tear.
Unravel the condom a couple of inches to be sure to tell which side will be placed over the penis. Place the condom over the penis and roll the condom down until is is completely rolled out and covering the penis. Be sure to discard the condom if it was placed over the penis the wrong way as semen could have unknowingly been transferred to the wrong side of the condom.
Be sure to hold on to the base of the condom when pulling out to prevent any spillage.
Carefully remove condom and discard. NEVER REUSE CONDOMS.
